NATURE-BASED LEARNING

Where Curiosity Meets the Great Outdoors

At our Forest School, children are free to be themselves; exploring and playing, losing themselves in imaginative play, building friendships, and spending quality time with their families. Immersed in the natural world, children become confident, resilient, and creative individuals. Being surrounded in nature regularly, they’ll develop a profound understanding of and connection to the environment—a crucial attribute for the future stewards of our planet.

The Importance of Play

Play is hugely important for children, allowing them to follow their own curiosity and engage in their surroundings helps them grow. Children are naturally curious and seek out opportunities to make sense of the world. When we follow our children’s lead, let them take risks, make mistakes and experiment with their surroundings we’re helping them problem solve, negotiate, imagine and investigate.

What will you choose when you come to play? Perhaps hunting for bugs, building dens, playing in the mud kitchen, planting and gardening, digging, relaxing in hammocks, climbing trees, creating art with natural materials, getting cosy to read a book in the story tree, or maybe sitting round the campfire toasting marshmallows?

Meet Amy

Into the Wild Forest School has been a dream of mine for a long time now. My own 3 children are my inspiration and the reason this woodland space exists. After seeing the difference nature has on them, and our lives, I wanted to create a space where everyone can feel just how special our natural world is. A space where children can play, take risks, make friends, connect with nature and create memories to cherish forever.

“If children grow up not knowing about nature and appreciating it,  they will not understand it, and if they don’t understand it, they won’t protect it, and if they don’t protect it, who will?”
